A file containing documents relating to the constitution and functions of local Appellate Tribunals, which were established to deal with the appeals of conscientious objectors for exemption from being called up under the National Service (Armed Forces) Act 1939. Documents in the file include correspondence suggesting edits to the wording of a pamphlet setting out the constitution of the tribunals; and multiple drafts of the pamphlet.
