Description

A file of documents relating to monthly reports on the progress of the provision of air-raid shelters across the United Kingdom. Subjects discussed in the file include labour provisions for shelter construction; the progress of the construction of shelters; shelter amenities and welfare provisions, including lighting, heating, bunks, sanitary facilities, canteens, drinking water, air-raid wardens, medical aid, and dormitories; and the need for the control and supervision of shelter occupants due to hooligan activity, including wilful damage to the shelters.
