A file of government correspondence, statistical data, reports, and surveys relating to the British government's evacuation plans for the Hove area. Subjects covered in the file include transport and food provisions for evacuees; concern over householders' regard for child welfare; and the return of child evacuees to their families at Christmas. Other subjects covered include the issue of evacuating disabled children, such a blind German-Jewish child; re-billeting for unruly child evacuees; and financial provisions for householders to provide a suitable standard of living for evacuees, in order to prevent epidemics.
