Description

A file containing adverts relating to food supplies, cooking, and healthcare. Publicity campaigns featured in the adverts include "Potato Pete"; "Let's Talk About Food"; and "Food Facts". Topics addressed in the adverts include the necessity of reducing food wastage at home; changes in regulations for farmers concerning the sale of agricultural produce; and the work of local Food Advice Centres and the ways in which they help the public. Other topics addressed include the health benefits of National Wheatmeal Bread; campaigns to encourage retailers and caterers to sell more of particular types of food of which the supply is plentiful; the need to eat home-grown food to save shipping space; the government's purchase of reserve stocks of cod from Iceland, and a subsequent drive to encourage their consumption; nutritional information about certain kinds of foodstuffs; and tips for retailers to stay patient with their customers.
