Description

A file containing adverts relating to food supplies, cooking, and healthcare. Topics addressed in the adverts include recipes containing particular foodstuffs that can be used at home; information on the nutritional value of certain ingredients and the quantities of each required for a healthy diet; the extra rations that expectant mothers and young children are entitled to; the threat of vermin infecting and polluting food stocks; exhortations for catering professionals to use certain ingredients depending on the availability of foodstuffs; and tips for using food as part of a beauty regime. Other topics covered include the use of home-grown foodstuffs so as to save shipping space for essential wartime items; details for farmers regarding government contracts for their produce; and publicity material for retailers to encourage the public to buy particular items of food.
