Other topics covered include the importance of supporting the armed forces through saving, with individual stories of the impact of the war on members of the armed forces and their families; and the need for families to budget their income to save on shipping space, labour, and materials. Publicity campaigns represented in the file include the Squander Bug campaign to discourage unnecessary spending; the Wings for Victory Week campaign in support of the Royal Air Force; the Warships Week campaign in support of the Royal Navy; and individual stories of model savers.
