THE MILK POSITION. NOTES BY PROFESSOR A.W. ASHBY. Note by the Joint Secretary.

2 Feb 1942

THE MILK POSITION. Notes by Professor A.W. Ashby. 1. The increased demand for milk during 1941 appears to have been due partly to its use as a substitute for other foods and partly to its value as increasing the palatability of a restricted diet. During recent months the population has accepted some reduction in supply with good grace. Fortunately this reduction has coincided with an increase in supplies of condensed milk and milk powder and with a rela- tively strong position in regard to meat and cheese.
