Copy of a letter dated 28th August, 1941, to the Joint Secretary from the Secretary, Department of Health for Scotland. Thank you for your letter of 22nd August about dietary surveys. We have already gone some way in the direction of the proposals put forward by the Sub-Committee of the Scientific Committee on Food Policy. After the meeting of the Committee on 6th August Sir John Orr approached us and, with our concurrence, mentioned the proposal to our Scientific Advisory Committee, of which he is Chairman.
