SOME FUNDAMENTAL FACTS ABOUT BEEF CATTLE. By Professor D.M.S. Warson.

5 Jul 1941

One third of these cattle were slaughtered and completely analysed, the body being dissected, the parts ###hopped up and a sample taken for which dry matter, nitrogen, ether extract and ash were determined. Unfortunately, the "killing out percentage" is not recorded in the published paper, and cannot be obtained from the figures. But the total amounts of protein and fat, and the quantities in edible and inedible parts of the body are recorded, and there are full details of the amounts of food consumed.
