22 Nov 1940

practically to capacity, but it is feared that it may not be possibl to keep up the present production owing to the increasing difficulty in transporting the refined Oils to the Margarine and Compound Lard factories. The Margarine production has increased from about 4,000 tons a week pre-war to over 8,000 tons and as sufficient Oil is not available in the immediate vicinities of the Margarine Factories to meet the increased production, we have a much bigger transport probl to solve. About 85% of the present output of the Refineries goes to the Margarine and Compound Lard factories.
