Importation should be encouraged whether as fresh or canned + tomatoes. Canned juice is likely to have special value for feeding infants and children if oranges are in short supply. 7. Pulses are important because they contain much protein (about 20%) of peculiar value in a mainly cereal diet. They yield more protein per acre and per man-hour than any common crop.
