2nd July, 1940 SCIENTIFIC FOOD POLICY COMMITTEE VEGETABLES Memorandum by Professor F.L.Engledow, Mr W.Gavin and Professor J.A.Scott-Watson. A considerable expansion in the home production of vegetables is implied in the Committee's report on the Basal Ration in war time; a quantitative examination of the position, having regard to the comparative nutritive values of different types of vegetables, should be under- taken by the Ministry of Agriculture. It is clear, however, that expansion of production should not be evenly spread over all types, since certain types are of particular value under war conditions.
