THE SUB-COMMITTEE had before them memoranda on the prices of feeding stuffs prepared by the Ministry of Food, the Agricultural Departments and the Treasury (Papers Nos. F.P. (0) (40) 30, 31 and 33). SIR HENRY FRENCH stated that while the Departments concerned were in agreement as to the facts there was a difference of view as between the Ministry of Food and the Treasury on the one hand, and the Agricultural Department on the other. So far as concerned the Ministry of Food its position was that it was unable to sell feeding stuffs at the present price levels without incurring a heavy loss to the Exchequer.
