Women's Land Army. In Great Britain 22,552 members of the Women's Land Army 8. now in employment, an increase of 897 during the month. The recruitment rose from about 460 a week to over 560 in the week in December, following the announcement of the Government's new man power policy. Agricultural Wages. 9. Following the introduction of the 60/- per week minimum wage in England and Wales nearly all Wages Committees are proposing increases in the rates for younger male workers and female workers, coupled in most with proposals for increased deductions for board and lodging.
