(b) Regional Variations The decline in calf slaughterings, compared approximately the same in England and Wales and in with last year, is Scotland. (a) Trend of Marketings The number of sheep purchased for slaughter during the two weeks ended November 1st, 1941 was over 335,000; this is an increase of nearly 22,000 compared with the previous fortnight but it is nearly 437,000 (or 56%) less than a year earlier.
