3. CALVES 5. PIGS (a) Trend of Marketings During the two weeks ended October 4th, 1941 number of calves purchased for slaughter was approximately 37,600, or less than 3 year ago. The slaughterings were about 3,800 more than in the previous fortnight; as noted in the previous review it is usual for c### slaughterings to increase at this time of the year. (b) Regional Variations. The reduction in calf slaughterings in the t### weeks ended October 4th, compared with a year ago, is approximately th same in England and Wales and Scotland.
