SLAUGHTERING OF LIVESTOCK. THIRD FORTNIGHTLY REVIEW OF: Memo. by Minister of Food.

15 Jul 1941

3. CALVES 4. SHEEP 5. PIGS (a) (b) (a) 181,000, or 15%, compared with last year, while the number aged one two years old was approximately the same as in June, 1940. The de### in older animals may be attributed to the smaller number of stores imported from Eire and Northern Ireland during the latter part of 19 and the complete cessation of imports since the fourth week of Janua this year. It would seem, however, that the numbers of home-bred cattle carried through the winter in a store condition have partly the reduction in imported stores.
