CONFERENCE ON LIVESTOCK POLICY. Third Report Estimated Supplies of a Feeding Stuffs and Livestock carrying capacity in the third year of war 1. Scope of Report. This report and the tables attached set out the peace time supplies of animal feeding stuffs - concentrates (a) and roughages and grazing - and the supplies likely to be available in the third year of war, on favourable and on unfavourable assumptions as to imports and as to the yield and availability for livestock feeding of home crops. Estimates are made of the livestock population that could be economically carried on the reduced supplies of feeding stuffs which may be available, of the reduction in livestock numbers from the present level necessary to reach this new level, and of the effect of these changes in livestock numbers on the meat and bacon rations.
