Report No. 57. RET MINISTRY OF FOOD Copy No. FORTNIGHTLY REPORT ON SUPPLIES OF CERTAIN FOODS AND ANIMAL FEEDS. Imports of WHEAT AND FLOUR remain at a low level and stocks continue to decline; reserve stocks at January 11th equalled 14.8 weeks' supply. MAIZE AND MAIZE MEAL imports during the fortnight ended January 11th were lower than in any similar period since November 2nd. Total stocks have declined since the middle of October by about 28 per cent. Imports of OILCAKES AND MEALS during the four weeks ended January 11th were unusually heavy but with a reduced home production total stocks continue to decline.
