- 2 - 156, 249 cwts. of butter with a value of £1,123,843. Of the total only 4 lbs. of butter remains unaccounted for. Milk. During the past month the Ministry, on behalf of the Ministry of Food, has become the purchaser of all milk produced in Northern Ireland. In response to an appeal from Scotland on behalf of the Glasgow area, the Ministry has arranged for the supply of 5,000 gallons of Northern Ireland milk to the Glasgow area, and hopes to be able to answer the appeal in full by increasing the quantity to 17,000 gallons a day.
