ANIMAL FEEDING STUFFS. RATIONING OF: Memo by Minister of Food.

2 Nov 1940

Some amendment of the scheme may also be necessary to provide for the gradual introduction of the proposed rations for pigs so as to avoid the of the marketing of an excessive number of pigs which the slaughtering at present available would be quite unable to cope with if the new rations were introduced suddenly. The repercussions of the scheme on the supply of fat cattle also require consideration. 7. I would suggest that, if the above assurance can be given, consultation should take place between officers of my Department and the Agricultural Departments with the object of securing the amendments of the scheme that are necessary to safeguard the milk supply and to met the points referred to in the previous paragraph.
