SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE ON FOOD POLICY. FUTURE WORK OF: Note by Chairman of the Scientific Committee.

11 Oct 1940

(ii) That the attack is moderately successful and that our imports will have to be cut down to 15 million. (iii) That the attack is more successful still and that our imports will have to be cut down to 7 million tons in the coming 12 months. We have already collected a considerable amount of statistical material bearing on this subject, and it is now reaching the stage at which it can be cast in the form of definite recommendations. Before completing this report, however, we should like to be assured that it is still the view of Ministers that this would be a useful task for us to perform.
