Through the courtesy of the Secretary of State for War, officers of my Department have been afforded opportunities of seeing the various types of cooking equipment in use for military purposes, and I have been impressed with the reports which I have received of the No. 1 Portable Cooker. The essential features of this are a petrol burner operated on a similar principle to a Primus stove, which projects a flame beneath a row of 5 food containers placed on light and easily portable stands.
