Under war time conditions the normal trade in these classes of sheep will be seriously upset, for the following reasons:- (1) Reduced pasturage in lowland areas owing to the ploughing up campaign will make for a slack demand by feeders and breeder-feeders for hill sheep, both lambs and cast ewes always prodded that price inducements for sheep and cattle are relatively equal. (2) Standing the present arrangements for the marketing of fat stock, the sale of a selection of "store" lambs for immediate slaughter will stop.
