Supplies landed at Bristol have been short, particularly as Bristol had over allocated in December, and it was not possible for the Bristol Port Area Grain Committee to complete the 66% release for January until February 8th. This has led to complaints from the West Country. Additional supplies have now arrived at Bristol, but some time will elapse before they reach the farmer owing to railway congestion.
