NOTE PREPARED IN THE MINISTRY OF FOOD ON THE ORGANISATION FOR DEALING WITH WASTE. It will he convenient to consider the problem of waste from two aspects:- (a) Collection and utilisation of waste materials. (b) Economical use of food and other supplies in order to limit the amount of waste that occurs. (a) The collection and utilisation of waste material is a matter primarily for the Salvage Department of the Ministry of Supply, and the attached memorandum addressed to local Authorities together with the attached form of monthly return of salvage sold will indicate the lines on which they are working.
