1. FOOD SITUATION IN THE UNITED KINGDOM. THE COMMITTEE had before them the Report by the Minister of Food for the month of October, 1940 (F.P.(M) THE MINISTER OF FOOD said that in future, as on this occasion, his monthly report would consist of two parts, a Summary and a longer document, of which only the former would be circulated to the War Cabinet. A more serious food situation was revealed by this report than by reports in previous months, largely on account of the serious decline in arrivals of food supplies from overseas.
