The Committee had before them the following papers:- Weekly Report No. 45 by the Ministry of Food (F.P.(M)(40)143); and Monthly Report No.10 (F.P. (M)(40)144). Twelfth Report by the Minister of Food for the month of August, 1940 (W.P.(R)(40)194); Imports - consumption and stocks. THE MINISTER OF FOOD drew attention to the figures given in F.P.(M)(40)143 comparing imports and home production with consumption of a number of commodities, such as wheat, bacon and ham, sugar, butter and vegetable oils.
