1. REMOVAL OF POTATOES FROM THE WASH AREA. (Previous Ref: F.P.(M)(40) 24th Mtg. Concl. 3). The Committee had before them the following papers:- Memorandum by the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries (F.P.(M)(40) 106). Memorandum by the Minister of Food (F.P.(M)(40) 113). THE MINISTER OF FOOD said that the question whether steps should be taken to remove potatoes from the Wash area depended upon an estimate of the extent of the risk, and that for this estimate the Committee must rely upon the advice of the Military Authorities.
