1. THE FOOD AND FEEDINGSTUFFS POSITION IN THE UNITED KINGDOM. The Committee had before them the Ministry of Food's Weekly Report No.30 on Supplies of Certain Food and Feeding Stuffs (Paper No. F.P.(M)(40) 76). It was pointed out that the reserve stocks of wheat and flour now amounted to over 13 weeks' supply for consumption as flour. Generally speaking the supply position was also satisfactory in the case of other commodities. THE MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE AND FISHERIES said, with reference to paragraph 6 on page 1 of the Report, that the stocks of certain animal feedingstuffs only amounted to a fortnight's consumption.
