134 3/-, estimated as sufficient to cover increased costs of production and increases in agricultural wages, and to provide, in addition, a margin of profit as an incentive to undertake increased production: 2/-, to meet the normal seasonal trend of prices upwards in this period: 1/9d, to meet the revised prices for feeding-stuffs from early in January. The Ministry of Food and the Treasury, while accepting the suggested 2/- increase to cover the seasonal trend of prices and agreeing that prices for livestock should also be raised by a certain amount, possibly the suggested figure of 1/9d, in respect of increased costs of feeding—stuffs, considered that the prices embodied in the Press announcement made on the 11th November, 1939, (reproduced in Annex I to Paper No.
