THE PROPOSED REQUISITIONING OF WYCOMBE ABBEY SCHOOL. Memorandum by the President of the Board of Education.

23 Mar 1942

(C) If the school closed and the children went home, they might or might not be able to get into local schools. Such a move must, however, have a most serious effect on the education of many of the girls, particularly those who were nearing important examinations, and those who were older than the majority of the children in day secondary schools. In this connection it should be noted that 69 girls are at present preparing to take the school certificate examination and 24, including 9 reading science or medicine, to take the higher school certificate examination.
