GOVERNMENT OFFICES, WHITEHALL: SOUTH BLOCK. Memorandum by the Lord President of the Council.

18 Sep 1941

-2- Space freed in North and South Blocks. By transfer of Home Security operational staff to third section of Horseferry Road citadel on completion in December 1941, 150 persons 3. By this means, space to accommodate 270 persons could be made available in the South Block in the immediate future; and space in the North and South Blocks for a further 520 persons would become available by December 1941. In view of the immediate relief afforded, to the extent of 270 places, I think it would be justifiable to take the risk of waiting until December for the additional 520 places.
