EMERGENCY LAWS (TRANSITIONAL PROVISIONS) BILL. 1. THE COMMITTEE had before them a memorandum (E.L.(45)18) by the Joint Secretaries, covering a draft of the Emergency Laws (Transitional Provisions) Bill. 2. THE COMMITTEE first considered the Acts listed in the memorandum whose duration depends on the Emergency Powers (Defence, Acts. Reference was made to the following points:- (a) The Marriage (Members of His Majesty's Forces) Act, 1941, would not be required. (b) The Marriage (Scotland) (Emergency Provisions) Act, 1940; section 1 of the Marriage (Scotland) Act, 1942, and the Confirmation of Executors (War Service) (Scotland) Act, 1940, would be required for a further period.
