###litical aspect The (c) The use of the Defence Regulations contained in Parts I and II of the General Regulations for the periods proposed by the interested departments will be legitimate. These Regulations are concerned with matters of security, public safety and public order and will mostly be wanted for the period of the Japanese war only or, in some cases, until the end of the demobilisation period. (d) It will be legitimate to use the Defence Regulations contained in Parts III and IV of the General Regulations, not only for the prosecution of the war against Japan, but also for the securing of food and other essential supplies after all hostilities are over.
