Statistics required in connection with post-war employment policy

22 Oct 1943

2. General agreement has emerged on the main outline of the suggestions which we make below. our suggestions are directed mainly to the period of "normal" peacetime conditions after the transitional period is over, as we understand this to be in accordance with the terms of reference of the Pest-War Employment committee. But we have naturally given some attention to the arrangements to be made during the transitional period as well. It is obviously essential to provide continuity of statistics during the transitional period as the necessary foundation of whatever body of government statistics it may be decided to maintain permanently in peacetime.
