DEFENCE (ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE) (SCOTLAND) REGULATIONS, 1940. Departments mainly concerned: Scottish Home Department and Lord Advocate's Department. Other Departments concerned: None. Regulations 1 and 2 prescribe the procedure to be followed if criminal trials are interrupted by hostile operations. Regulation 3 relaxes in various ways the pro- visions as to juries in criminal cases with a view to saving man-power and meeting transport difficulties. Regulation 3A enables Sheriffs' Courts to be held during vacations.
