PROPOSALS IN RESPECT OF DEFENCE REGULATIONS IN PARTS I AND II AND V (IN PART) THE COMMITTEE had before it a memorandum by the Joint Secretaries (E.L.(43) 6), covering detailed proposals in respect of the Regulations in Parts I and II and some regulations in Part V of the Defence (General) Regulations. THE COMMITTEE decided to postpone, until it had proposals before it in respect of Parts III and IV, consideration of a suggestion made by SIR ALFRED HURST that the regulations proposed for revocation at Stage D should be classified according to the contingency to which they were related, such as shortage of houses, scarcity of materials, etc.
