were now giving orders for the binding of reserve Stocks of books previously put aside as unsaleable. One book- binding firm said that they held on behalf of publishers printed sheets which were twenty or more years old: even these were now being looked at to see whether they could be bound and sold. More than one firm mentioned, too, that although they had these large amounts of work on hand they would give delivery within fourteen days of educational and technical books which were urgently required.
