SUPPLY OF BOOKS 1. THE CHAIRMAN said that the first task of the Committee was to review the present position with regard to the supply of books and the present arrangements for the distribution and use of the material allocated and the labour available for the production of new books. It would probably be necessary to obtain some of the information for this purpose direct from the Publishers or the Libraries. After some discussion of the main points to be considered and of the information that would be required, the Committee asked that the following memoranda should be circulated: (i) A description of the present arrangement for the allocation of paper, cloth and board for books and the working of the present War Economy Agreement to be prepared by the Ministry of Supply in consultation with the Office of the Minister of Production (Materials Committee) and the Board of Trade (for cloth).
