I wish to lend my strongest support to the suggestion made by the Minister of Labour and National Service in his Memorandum L.P. (l) (46) 2, that firms producing biscuits, sweets, confectionery, jam and jellies in areas suffering from serious unemployment should be given the maximum supplies of materials, provided that these will enable them to take on substantial numbers of additional workers.
