April 1,092 houses were damaged but are reparable. 826 of these houses were in the London Civil Defence Region. In Scotland during the same period 173 houses were destroyed or damaged beyond repair and 7,028 houses were damaged but are reparable. 4. FOOD A meat depot at Aberdeen was extensively damaged and a bakery, a tea store and some 175 retail shops were damaged. 5. RAILWAYS The lines between Kittybrewster and Bucksburn were blocked on the night of 21st April. Normal working was resumed by the morning of the 23rd.
