The salaried Sub-Office at Deal and the Telephone Exchange at Sandwich suffered slight damage during the period. Windows in two Town Sub-Offices at Worthing and the Telephone Exchange at Swandean were damaged by blast from sea mines which exploded on the beach after breaking loose during gales.
