B. DETAILED SUMMARY OF AIR RAID DAMAGE IN THE PERIOD 26TH AUGUST TO 2ND SEPTEMBER, 1942. I. HOMELESS. At Leeds 14 U.X.B. caused the evacuation of 150 people, and Rest Centres were opened on Friday, 28th august. The centres were reported clear later in the day. IV. HOUSE PROPERTY. Preliminary estimates supplied by the Ministry of Health indicate that during the week ended 29th August, 1942, damage to house property in England and Wales was as follows:- England and Wales.
