At Middlesbrough bombs dropped during the early hours of 26th July necessitated two rest centres being opened to accommodate 220 people. At Haverton Hill a rest centre was opened to accommodate 200 people who were affected by raids during the night of 26th July, At Nottingham a suspected unexploded bomb dropped during the night of the 23/24th July caused the evacuation of 150 persons who were accommodated in two rest centres.
