were B. DETAILED SUMMARY OF AIR RAID DAMAGE IN THE PERIOD 22ND-29TH JULY, 1942. I. HOMELESS. At Billingham in the early hours of 26th July, bombs dropped necessitated the opening of rest centres, but the number of persons accommodated in them is not stated. At Middlesbrough bombs dropped during the early hours of 26th July necessitated two rest centres being opened to accommodate 220 people. At Haverton Hill a rest centre was opened to accommodate 200 people who were affected by raids during the night of 26th July, At Nottingham a suspected unexploded bomb dropped during the night of the 23/24th July caused the evacuation of 150 persons who were accommodated in two rest centres.
