The meeting had before them a note by the Secretary covering a Summary of Air Raid Damage during the week ending 30th October, 1940, (circulated on 31st October under reference 2/1/31). The meeting reviewed developments in the situation during the past week. The general position showed improvement which was in part due to the lighter scale of air attack. This was not wholly to be accounted for by weather conditions; improved methods of defence had also played their part. In discussion the following were the principal points raised and the conclusions reached:(1) A further 89 basements had been opened for use as public shelters.
