The Meeting continued their discussion on shelter policy and air raid damage. In this latter connection they had before them a Note by the Secretary (circulated on 8th October under Reference Number 2/1/31) covering a summary of air raid damage during the week ending 7th October, 1940, compiled from reports submitted by Departments. The following were the principal points raised, and the conclusions reached, in the course of discussion:- The Stepney Shelter. (i) The Minister of Home Security, in consultation with the Minister of Health was taking steps to improve the sanitary conditions in this shelter, but the position was not, as yet, satisfactory.
