FOOD SITUATION IN THE UNITED KINGDOM Report for October, 1945 Memorandum by the Minister of Food.

24 Nov 1945

Potatoes Lard General fats position (ii) (i) (ii) (i) (ii) Home production of flour was well maintained during the month at an average weekly rate of 99 thousand tons; and as arrivals during the remainder of 1945 are expected to be at a higher level than in recent months, there is a good prospect that bulk stocks will have reached the 400 thousand tons mark by the end of the year. Bulk stocks increased by nearly 20 thousand tons during October to just over half a million tons at the end of the month.
