been revised and suggest that the interim grant should be £13m. in 1945/46, £14m. in 1946/47 and £15m. in 1947/48. 7. For the reasons given above, and having regard to the fact that those authorities which were in serious financial difficulties because of evacuation or war damage were given special Exchequer assistance which is still continuing and in respect of which advances amounting in the aggregate to some £15m. have already been made, I do not think there is any case for additional block grant for the past years 1942 to 1944.
