I think that both the miners and the general public would appreciate that important as it is to introduce legislation for nationalising the coalmining industry at the earliest possible date, it would be desirable that, since the difficulties about compensation have arisen, that question should go to arbitration and that the introduction of the Bill should be deferred until th findings of the Arbitration Tribunal have been received. If my colleagues agree that it is desirable, in the circumstances, to defer legislation until the Tribunal has made i decision known, I would wish to make an early announcement, and t say that the matter of compensation has been referred to arbitrat Ministry of Fuel and Power, E.
